Housekeeping "Ayi" Service

Welcome to AS-Expatriate Assistance Program, we appreciates you choosing our company to provide "Ayi" housekeeping service to your family. We look forward to a long and mutually satisfying relationship for the duration of your stay in Shanghai.

AS-Expatriate Assistance Professionals is the pioneer in providing American managed "Ayi" housekeeping service to expatriate clients in Shanghai. Recognizing our clients come from all over the world with different expectations and experiences, we would like to share with you the following information regarding the Chinese situation in order to optimize your "Ayi" housekeeping service experience.

Background

1.      The Chinese society is undergoing a revolution in striving for international standard and efficiencies for its various professions and industries but these are always done with Chinese Characteristics. Hence the “International Standard with Chinese Characteristics” phrase.

2.      As you may have experienced through your search, the Chinese housekeeping (Ayi) industry is quite immature and dominated by “middle men” who will provide no support or service after introduction of the Ayi.

3.      Due to this “middle men” industry standard and lack of society support, the Chinese Ayi is accustomed to be mobile and assertive in negotiating directly with clients.

4.      Since the Chinese government is build on the support of the blue collar labor force, the Chinese labor law is quite stringent on earned wages and this is strictly enforced.

5.      English language listening and speaking skills are highly valued and they usually lead to career advancement out of the Ayi employment.

Helpful Suggestions:

1.      Please contact your relationship/account manager immediately so we can work with the Ayi to optimize your service experience if any of the following occurs:

a)        Your Ayi's performance is below your expectation.

b)        Your Ayi tries to negotiate salary or private agreement directly with you.

2.      Please be patient with us as AS-Expatriate Assistance Professionals work diligently to optimize your service experience. We must rely extensively on the available Chinese labor force as well as ancillary Chinese product and equipment companies to complete your service request.

3.  Please be flexible as the Chinese Ayi labor pool who has any English speaking skill and proper qualification is quite limited, it may takes sometime to find and/or replace your Ayi should that be necessary.
